Heroes (2008) and recently has been in the new regrads to her involvement in IPL team Kings XI Punjab which is partly ownes alongs with her boyfreind Ness Wadia. She is currently in New Zealand by invitation from New Zealand Tourism Board and New Zealand Cricket and during her visit she met up with Prime Minister of New Zealand, John Key. During her visit she plans to watch the cricket one day series between India and New Zealand. Preity will next been seen in
Har Pall (2009) which is planned for release later this year.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Awarded French Award Date: 02/11/2009: The French government has announced that they will give Aishwarya Rai Bachchan the Officer Dan Ordre Des Arts Et Des Lettres (officer of the order of arts and letters), which is the second highest civilian honour given by the French government. But unfortunately, Ash has refused to accept the award at the date and time set by the French government because currently her father's health is not well. Ash would like all of her family to be there when she receives the award. This will also be the second person from Bollywood to receive such an honour. The first person to receive the honour was non other then the King Of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan .

Nayathara has been banned from working in Tamil films? Date: 02/05/2009: The Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) and South Indian Artists Association, have jointly issued a statement asking the film producers to not sign the popular south Indian film actress Nayantara (Nayanthara) to any films. Nayanthara was recenlty signed for the film, Paiyya, opposite Paruthiveeran Karthi for a record salary of Rs one crore, and had received an advance of Rs 20 lakhs from them for film. Given the current market condition not so good over all, the producers asked her to take a paycut, which she did not take well and words were exchanged between her and the producers, and in the end she was replaced by Tamannaah for the film. Nayathara reason for not returning the funds was that she was had to stay home while the film for being prepared for and lost out on other assignments.

Sania Mirza Moves Onto Semi Finals At Pattaya Open 02/13/2009: Sania Mirza fought hard for one hour and 44 minutes and upset the sixth seeded opponent in the quarterfinal to reach the semi finals at the Pattaya Open. Sania beat Thailand's Tamarine Tanasugarn 7-5 6-4 and now will face eighth seed Magdalena Rybarikova of Slovakia in the semi final match.
Sania Mirza Moves Onto Quarterfinal At Pattaya Open 02/12/2009: Sania Mirza played her best match after coming back from her wrist injury and crushed Russian qualifier Vitalia Diatchenko 6-4, 6-0 to enter the quarterfinals in the Pattaya Open. Sania, ranked 126, broke Diatchenko five times in the match to win in just over an hour of play. Sania will face sixth seeded Tamarine Tanasugarn of Thailand in the quarterfinals, who beat Portugese Neuza Silva 6-3, 6-2. When Sania and Tamarine last faced each other in 2007, Sania had won. Sania with her Italian partner Mara Santangelo advanced to the semifinals of the doubles event.
Sania Mirza Moves Onto Second Round At Pattaya Open 02/10/2009: Sania Mirza had a hard match against world ranked 945th, local girl Nicha Lertpitaksinchai, at the Pattaya Open to reach the second round. Sania had to battle Nicha for more then one hour and 51 minutes to beat her 7-6 (4) 7-5 before continuing her journey at the Pattaya Open.
Mahesh Bhupathi and Sania Mirza Move On At The Australian Open 02/02/2009: Sania Mirza and her mixed doubles partner Mahesh Bhupathi came from behind to defeat Canadians Aleksandra Wozniak and Daniel Nestor to move onto the semifinal the mixed doubles event of the Australian Open. The unseeded Indian pair, were down in the first set 3-6 but fought back to win the next two sets 6-4, 10-5. Mahesh and Sania will now face Iveta Benesova and Lukas Dlouhy from the Czech Republic.

Sania Mirza Back After "Career Threatening" Injury 01/09/2009: Sania Mirza who had pulled out of the U.S. Open because of a right wrist injury that flared at the Olympic Games, has now recovered with the help of her friend, Yuvraj Singh , a Indian Test batsman. Sania currently is taking part in the women's exhibition tournament which features players from Europe, Russia, the Americas and Asia Pacific. Anna Chakvetadze beat out Sania Mirza of India 6-4, 6-4. The Australian Open, the first of the season's four Grand Slams, starts on January 19, 2009.

Khan Vs Khan Round 3 Date: 02/06/2009: For the last two years, two of Bollywood's biggest Khan's Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan have had movie releases in late in the year close to each other. In 2007, it was SRK in Om Shanti Om (2007) and Aamir Khan in Taare Zameen Par (2007) , then in 2008 it was SRK with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (RNBDJ) (2008) with Aamir following with biggest box office hit of the year Ghajini Remake (2008) , now in 2009 the two stars will have releases close to each other, SRK's My Name Is Khan (MNIK) (2009) is scheduled to release in november 2009, while 3 Idiots (2009) starring Ammir will release on December 25, 2009. We will have to wait and see which film hits box office success this time. Will Shahrukh be able to overcome Ammir last two success and come out on top in 2009?
